Personal Info

I am a 34 year-old artist, web designer, musician, and fiction writer from Middletown, New Jersey. I am the proud father of two great daughters Angellica & Michelleand look forward to my upcoming wedding to by best friend and soulmate, Cathy. I call myself Thor because I am a big fan of Viking lore and an old PC Game Player from the days of DOOM, and Quake Clans so the screen name "Thor Jones" kinda' stuck.

I am a veteran of the U.S. Army, I have served from September 1989 thru April 1994. I served in Korea during the Gulf War and am thankful to have met a few of our heroes that went and did not come back. May God Bless their Families.

My hobbies are playing my PS2 (Medal Of Honor Frontline RULES!), Playing my guitar (when I have time), working on my sites, pursuing a home-based freelance career in web page and graphic design, and Messing about with my action figure collection. I like to spend my free time watching the Learning Channel, The Discovery Channel, Drawing, and ANYTHING pertaining to World War 2 or any other military conflict.

I am currently working full time at Miele Brother, General Contractors in Oceanport, N.J. and am a Carpenter. I am currently working on kitchen and bathroom remodeling jobs.

I am highly active on the Internet, and love to chat with anyone about anything. I like to use ICQ because I can chat in real time without interrupting whatever work I may be doing. My ICQ number is 10990353 if you'd like to contact me there.

Things I like: My kids, My family and friends, Playing in a band, Playing in front of a live audience, Harley Davidson Motorcycles, Beer, Leather, Heavy Metal, Thrash (there is a difference!), Medal of Honor for Playstation 2, Quake, Most of the people I've met on ICQ, Beer, a good sword battle, anything related to Conan the Barbarian (except the cartoon series), Frank Frazetta's artwork, Boris's artwork, Ken Kelly's artwork, Drawing, Beer, and a snowy day.

Things I don't like: People who piss me off, posers, warm beer, people on ICQ who create those stupid warnings about viruses and having to pay for using ICQ, all the idiot drivers who wait till the light turns green before turning right, flat beer, People who are too busy singing or picking thier nose or digging around on the passenger side floor looking for something to realize that the friggin' light turned green five minutes ago, nasty beer ('nuff beer references?), and anyone who thinks that it is acceptable to stop in the middle of the road to talk to someone walking there GET THE HELL OUTTA MY WAY!!!.

Things I friggin' hate: Campers & Trip-fags! (for all you quake players out there), whiners, people who can't hang with Travis (Hi Jason!), Kim Chee, Red Dog Beer, wine coolers, and tattoos that fade, people who do 10 to 15 M.P.H. below the posted speed limit, an empty 12-pack, and people who stop their car in the middle of the street to talk to someone they know standing there ( I know I mentioned this twice, I really...REALLY...hate that!), and a snowy day.

Professional Info

Overveiw (for those interested): I have been into drawing most of my life and I began to study art seriously in high school. After high school while serving in the U.S. Army I continued studying art in my spare time and began writing fiction. I am very into Fantasy Adventure and I'm a huge fan of Conan The Barbarian. I developed two fictional worlds to base my stories in and began illustrating my own comics from them.

In 1995, I bought my first PC and discovered the internet in a big way and quickly decided I wanted to learn to make a web page for myself. I began coding HTML using only MS Notepad, Netscape, and a beginner's "how to" book. Now I use Allare Homesite which saved me a lot of typing time with it's tools but still allows me to work on the code. I also began drawing using MS Paint which was frustrating to say the least. But, I soon discovered Paint Shop Pro (PSP) which freed me up to do anything I wanted with my images. I still use PSP along with Adobe Photoshop to work on my graphics and images.

In 1998, I began taking graphic design courses at The Art Institute of Seattle. Unfortunatly, I was having severe problems at home with the breakup of my marriage and eventually dropped out due to all the hardships of becoming a single parent. I managed to complete two quarters at the school, and as soon as I am able I will be seeking out further education in the future.

I have been pursuing a career as a freelance web page and graphic designer ever since I've created this website. I love the work and it's a feild that I think I can go far in. I am currently working full time at Galileo Inc. in Seaside Heights N.J. and am the primary graphic designer and webmaster for two web sites WebClimber.com and Terp Territory which is an online store for University of Maryland merchandise. and am not looking for full-time work, but I would love to pick up side projects and begin moving forward towards my goal of doing mainly freelance work from home.
