1:6 Scale Conversions

I've been trying to figure out for a long time just what the conversion between 1:6 scale and life size is. This page is my best guess, it is the result of hours of trial and error, measuring, testing and re-testing. If anyone out there has information to make this page more accurate, than by all means let me know.

Currently, the conversion is 2.0625 Inches (2 1/16) = 1 ft. This would make the average height of each figure about 5 ft 6 inches. The average height of most people (According to those I work with in the construction business). So, if the above conversion is correct then the following would be the average sizes for most common building materials and lengths (scaled down).

Note: All these calculations are "ballpark" numbers, some have been modified by the availability of certain building materials in craft shops. I use standard trim for doll houses to finish my scenery and find that it does not affect the look of the finished product too much. All the scenery I build, I build true to life. That is, I build it the way I would build a real home (including plumbing, electrical, etc...). YES! I do have too much time on my hands! To bad I don't have enough space to go with it! If you want to see what I've built, please see the links at the bottom of the page.
