1:6 House Diorama

This is my pride and joy, the culmination of all the work I did on 1:6 scale conversion, and proof that I got it completely WRONG the first time around. I got this idea a while back to build a scene for my little collection of 12" figures. I wanted it to look like a European cottage that was bombed out and severely battle damaged. I figured it would be a cool display for my WWII figures.

When I set out build it however I ran smack into the problem of scale. I had no clue how big to build the thing, thus began my quest to figure out the scale conversion. A few days (and many cups of coffee) later, I had what I though was a basic ruler by which to build my house. And so I built it. and as you will notice in the below photos. The ceiling in the house is much too high to be the average 8 foot ceiling. It is actually 9 feet (according to my corrected scale), and that's ok. Some homes have 9 foot ceilings.

I'll try to get some better shots of the exterior posted in the future.

I'm currently thinking of putting this house up for auction on Ebay, but if anyone visiting this site is interested I'll consider your offers first. If I sell it, I'll be asking about $250.00 US for it. I'm not sure how many people would want to pay that kind of money for this display, but I spent a good deal of time and money on it and it is a highly detailed, hand made product. If it sells great, if not: just as good. I like showing it off.

The scene is about 21 inches tall, true to life construction with actual lath and plaster interior walls complete with wallpaper, swiss style stucco exterior walls (the construction method of the time). Two non-functioning windows (trimmed) and complete with bullet riddled glass. Authentic battle damage, bullet holes, exposed wiring and plumbing. Stained wood flooring, Trim including base, crown moulding, and chair rail. Accessories include...

With the exception of the miniature accessories, and swivel chair. This Diorama is completely handmade, stained and painted by me. I do not have a shop, everything I build, I build on my dining room table (literally!). Price includes shipping, All Work Guaranteed, Figures Not Included.

If you are interested in having a specific scene built please contact me and via e-mail and we can discuss it. As I said above, I do not have a shop so if you want an entire house built (or some other huge project) please contact someone else. Projects should be about the same size as the one displayed above. Not much bigger.
